Annual Charity Gala (17 Apr): Almost sold out!

On April 17, 2010 at 18:00, the American Women's Club of Düsseldorf will once again hold a benefit gala to raise funds for a local charity. This year the theme is 'Women Helping Women', with the majority of the funds being designated to help Frauenhaus Düsseldorf (which helps battered and abused women) and Knackpunkt (a shelter for homeless women in Düsseldorf).

As in previous years, the Gala will be held at the Kosaido Country Club, Am Schmidtberg 11, Düsseldorf. This year professional photographer Haroc Marcard will be at the event to snap photos of everyone looking their best; the photographs will be available for purchase online after the party.

About the Club

Over the past 10 years the AWCD has donated a total of over 120.000€ to Düsseldorf-area organizations including Kinderregenbogenland (a children's hospice), Friedensdorf Int'l, Autisimus Therapie and the Frauenhaus Neuss. In addition to supporting several local organizations which primarily help women and children, the AWCD's purpose is to help American and other international newcomers to Düsseldorf find their way and to integrate into the local society and culture.
