The following members were elected to the AWCD executive board for the new Club year, starting June 1. They are looking forward to working with you to continue to strengthen and improve the Club.

Chantelle is continuing her service on the Executive Board after previously serving as 2nd Vice President. She was born in Pittsburgh and was raised in West Virginia, where she attended West Virginia University, obtaining a B.S. in Engineering. After many years working in Sales and Marketing in the chemical industry, her husband's job moved them to Düsseldorf. Her husband, Ian, was born in Northern Ireland. Besides watching virtually any sporting event, she enjoys spending time with her daughter, Devan, as well as traveling and reading.
Shayne was born and raised in the northern suburbs of Chicago. She earned a B.S. degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Illinois and subsequently went on to work in the IT industry for six years. During this time she met her now-husband Fabian, a German man working in Chicago, through a mutual friend. They have lived in Düsseldorf since December 2009. Shayne spends her time teaching indoor cycling classes, learning German, trying great food and wine, and reading. She is very excited to join the Board and contribute to the continued success of the AWCD.
Danielle was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. After receiving a degree in Business Administration from Miami University, she decided to move to Atlanta to pursue a career in technical sales for CompuServe Network Services. She met her husband, Dave, in 1997 and since then has had the opportunity to live in a variety of places within the U.S. including Detroit, Michigan, Albany, New York and most recently Parkersburg, West Virginia. Danielle and her family moved to Düsseldorf in September 2008. She is, however, no stranger to Germany as she and Dave lived in Nürnberg for a year in 2000; she is excited to now be able to share this experience with her two sons Zach (6) and Nate (4). Danielle served on the Executive Board last year as the club's Membership Chair. In her free time, Danielle enjoys playing tennis, reading and scrapbooking.
Annette was born in 1959 in Jackson, Tennessee and is a U.S. and Swiss citizen. She holds a PhD in International Relations from the Fletcher School in Medford, Massachusetts, and worked in banking in New York City as well as in management consulting in Munich, Zürich, Milan and Vienna. Her last position was Manager of a European banking research unit at McKinsey& Co. Annette has 2 children, Isabel (18) and Alex (15). Isabel studies at university and Alex is in grade 9 at ISD. Annette moved to Düsseldorf with her family in 2008, is currently not employed and enjoys spending her time with family and friends.

Carola has been a member of the AWCD for 10 years and has co-coordinated the Evening Section Activity Section (also know as the "Stammtisch") for seven. She was born in Milwaukee and grew up in British Columbia before moving to Meerbusch over 20 years ago. She looks forward to meeting with new and longstanding members at the Stammtisch to exchange ideas and information and to just socialize.
With the new AWCD year, Cheryl Huenink has taken on the co-leadership position with Carola. Cheryl led the "Working Women's Network" evening section back in the early 1990's.

Victoria is originally from Northern Ireland. As a human rights lawyer, she has lived and worked all over, most recently in Kosovo. She moved to Düsseldorf in April 2009 to be with her husband, who is German, and to give birth to daughter Rosa, who will be one year old in August. She is discovering that being a mum is more fun - and tougher! - than she ever would have thought! She is delighted to serve with the AWCD this year and to slowly start to learn how to juggle the wonderful family-social-professional life balance.
In this position, Charmaine will be on the look out for motivated women who want to contribute to the Club and help keep the whole thing running. She has been in Germany since October 2005, and her husband, who is German-Hungarian, grew up in Duisburg. Charmaine is originally from California but met her husband in Washington DC where she was working as a lobbyist after previously working in politics. Living first in Bochum, she became involved in the club through the former Zone 4 Group, now renamed the Ruhr Group. Last year, she moved to South Duisburg. Her lively 18-month-old son Elliott and Club duties keep her pretty busy. If you want to be an active part of the club, contact her to talk about how and where we can use your skills and talent.
Ursula is German and grew up in beautiful Bavaria. She has recently returned part-time to her career as a lawyer after having taken time away from work to be with her daughter Emily, now six years old. She lives with her daughter and British husband David in Kaiserswerth, close to ISD, where Emily goes to school. Ursula's interests include writing, tennis, horse riding, playing piano and art. She has been a member of the AWCD since 2003 and during that time has volunteered as a Big Sister, written articles for the Radschläger and helped with revising of statutes and by-laws.

Kimberly moved to Germany in December 2009 with her husband, who works for Bayer Animal Health, and two sons. In her U.S. life, she worked in Pharmaceutical Development and Operations at several companies in the Mid-Atlantic region. She is currently at home caring for her nine-month-old son. She also has a fifth grader who started at ISR in January 2010. She is grateful for the efforts of the ISR staff in helping her son transition to life in Germany, and welcomes any questions about ISR.
